Our insurance policies

How billing works for each situation.

Clear expectations up front. Here’s how we handle claims and payment across the most common coverage situations.

Group or individual insurance

We take out as much of the insurance hassle as possible — we’ll gladly call your insurance company to verify your coverage benefits. Please note that quoted benefits are not a guarantee of payment. We file your claim and await payment for up to 90 days. If your plan pays as quoted, you are responsible only for non-covered services, deductibles, and co-pays.

Patients without insurance

No insurance, or a plan with limited coverage such as a catastrophic policy? No one wants to build up a large bill, so we offer several payment plans that let you receive complete care without undue financial difficulty. We’re always happy to accept cash, personal check, MasterCard, Visa, or Discover.

On-the-job injury (Workers’ Compensation)

If you’re injured on the job, your care should be paid under your employer’s Workers’ Compensation insurance. Inform your employer of the accident and obtain the name and address of their carrier; we’ll file with them for payment. If that information isn’t provided, a settlement isn’t made within 3 months, or you suspend or terminate care, any fees and services are due immediately.

Personal injury & auto accidents

Notify your auto insurance carrier of your visit right away, and tell our insurance department immediately if an attorney is representing you — we work closely with several attorneys to ensure your case is handled properly. We’ll file all your charges and wait for settlement for up to six months after your care is completed. You are ultimately responsible for your bill; once the claim settles or care ends, fees are due immediately.

Medicare

We accept assignment from Medicare. For Chiropractors, Medicare covers only manual manipulation of the spine, paying 80% of the allowable fee once your deductible has been met. You are responsible for the deductible, the remaining 20%, and any non-covered services. Our office completes and files your Medicare forms at no charge.

Secondary insurance

Please let us know about any secondary insurance you may have. We’ll assist you with filing and, when possible, file in office on your behalf.
